BIOFUR the French office for Ecopel’s fur textiles is pleased to announce the schedule of the BIOBASE THE FUTURE keynote that will take place on June 11th at Nice Hyatt Regency Palais de la Méditerranée.

UNOC 3 is the ideal place to recall the crucial importance for the textile industry to switch from fossil-fuel to bio-based materials. The textile industry is one of the most detrimental land-based industry. It participates to global warming, ocean acidification and the release of micro fibers in our global oceans.

Many studies however have demonstrated the various advantages of bio-based polymers in terms of environmental aspects. PLA one of the most used bio-based polymer not only requires less energy than conventional synthetics to produce but also emits fewer greenhouse gases.

From fossil-based to Nature based, Deplastifying the textile industry is not a matter of how but rather a matter of when.
